About this item
  • TRADITIONAL, RELIABLE VARIETY: A classic broad bean known for its dependable growth and richly flavoured beans. Produces long, full pods and is valued by home gardeners for its reliability in UK climates. Ideal for steaming, boiling, soups, stews, or making classic dishes such as pasta con le fave (pasta with broad beans). The beans also freeze well for use throughout the year.
  • HIGH YIELDS OF LARGE BEANS: Each plant grows to around 110–120cm and produces strong stems packed with long, uniform pods (around 30–32cm). Each pod contains approximately 8–9 tender, creamy beans with excellent taste and texture. SEEDS: 40 Approx.
  • GROWING GUIDE: Sow seeds outdoors February to May, or September to November for overwintering crops. Plant seeds 2cm deep in well-drained soil, spacing 20–25cm between plants and 60–70cm between rows. Prefers a sunny or lightly shaded position. Water regularly during flowering and support taller plants if exposed to wind. Pick pods while young for the sweetest flavour and to encourage further cropping.
  • HARVEST WINDOW: Harvest from April to July depending on sowing time. Beans can be eaten fresh, shelled, or left to mature fully for drying.
  • SEED QUALITY: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
