About this item
- Spadona Leaf Chicory: A classic heritage chicory variety with long, upright green leaves and a distinctive light-blonde midrib. Known for its crisp texture and beautiful bitter-sweet flavour that lifts salads, sautés and traditional Italian dishes.
- Fast-Growing & Cut-and-Come-Again: Spadona is a vigorous and reliable grower that produces multiple harvests. Simply cut the leaves and allow the plant to regrow for fresh greens all season long—perfect for both home gardeners and allotments.
- Growing Guide: Sow Spadona chicory outdoors from March to September in finely raked soil, 1 cm deep, keeping the seedbed moist for even germination. This hardy heritage variety prefers cool conditions (around 10°C) and grows into an upright plant with long green leaves. Cut the leaves regularly for continuous harvest from May to November—simply cut and come again. SEEDS: 12g Approx.
- Versatile Kitchen Favourite: Ideal for salads, soups, sautés, and traditional Italian recipes. A brilliant choice for gardeners who enjoy robust leafy greens with genuine Mediterranean character.
- Seed Quality: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
