- SWEET CORN PRELUDE F1 SEEDS: A mid to early maturing variety giving high yielding cobs that fill to the tip, with deep kernels and a narrow core. Plants perform consistently well in most conditions. An excellent performer in garden trials.
- SOW: March to May, HARVEST: August to October, SEEDS: 35 Approx.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN – March to May. WHERE - In 7.5cm pots of seed compost. HOW - Sow singly and cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15℃. CARE - Remove cover once seedlings appear. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 35cm apart in each direction, set out in squares to help wind pollination. Keep well watered particularly at flowering time. HARVEST - August to October.
- FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN – May. WHERE - In a prepared seed bed, in the growing position. HOW - Sow 1-2 seeds together with 40cm between stations. Cover with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. CARE - Thin to one strong seedling per position. HARVEST - August to October.
- TIP: This variety is best grown isolated from 'sugary enhanced' corn as cross-pollination will impair the quality.
