32 Gauge (silver) Coarse - starter and shaping. 36 Gauge (green) Medium - starter, worker, shaping. 38 Gauge (red) Medium - worker, shaping. 40 Gauge (blue) Fine - smoothing, detail. 42 Gauge (gold) Fine - very fine details. 40 Gauge Reverse (orange) - for fluffing the surface pulling wool outward. The 36 Gauge Star (cream) Medium-has 2 barbs a side - faster starting and working. The 38 Gauge Star (black) medium - has 2 barbs a side - Faster working and shaping. The 38 Gauge Twisted needle (Purple) Medium - has 2 barbs a side - even felting and smoothing. The 40 Gauge Twisted needle (light blue) - has 2 barbs a side - even felting, smoothing. Packed in a protective reusable tube. Felting needles are brittle, and are therefore easily broken. To reduce breakages use the needle in a straight in, straight out motion. The needle is best not bent, wiggled or put under a lot of pressure. As a general rule if the needle will not enter a surface with ease do not force it.
