Y2klezmer

Compositions by bandleader Seth Kibel, a skilled swing and jazz instrumentalist, and by bassist Scott Harlan, a noted jazz-fusion player, show strong jazz roots, as do numerous improvised sequences within songs. Guitar riffs in surf music style add energy to a klezmer jam, a string quartet brings classical flavor to a clarinet rhapsody and exotic percussion imbues many selections with a world beat feel. The result is an "alternative" klezmer album that is both innovative and enjoyable.
