In fact, you don't even have to use the collet lock - ideal for table- or CNC-mounted routers. Not only that, but the extra reach afforded by the Musclechuck allows you to perform above-table router bit changes in seconds. Unlike many other quick-change router chucks, this one doesn't rely on a cam, so it won't damage the router bit shank, and there's no risk of loosening over time.
