- LEEK OARSMAN F1 SEEDS: Quick to grow and early maturing snow-white shanks with excellent flavour. Shows good tolerance to rust and is slow to bolt, standing well in the ground until harvest. Winner of an RHS Award of Garden Merit for reliability and good performance.
- SOW: March to May, HARVEST: October to December, SEEDS: 50 Approx.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN – March to May. WHERE - In trays or individual cell modules of seed compost. HOW - Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15℃. Seedlings appear 14-21 days.
- CARE - Remove cover when seedlings appear. If necessary transplant to further cells or trays. Stand outside for a few days from late May (avoid frosts). When 10cm tall transplant into holes 15cm apart with 30cm between rows.
- HARVEST - October to December.
- TIP: Earth up the stems in autumn for extra whiteness.
