The Altivar 12 drive integrates as standard the Modbus communication protocol, which can be accessed via the RJ45 connector located on the underside of the drive 1 with a 2-wire RS 485 physical interface. To communicate on the network, the Altivar 12 speed drive uses the Modbus RTU transmission mode.
