E536 hand taps create British Standard Fine threads in a wide range of materials, including steels, stainless steels and aluminium. They are available in sizes from three sixteenths of an inch up to one inch and for each size, three different chamfers of a taper (No 1), a plug or second (No 2) and a bottom tap (No 3) are available, with some sizes having a set of all three chamfers. The E536 taps are manufactured from High Speed steel for performance and endurance, and have a bright finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the edge of the tool, making sure you get a clean and accurate thread. With a straight flute design E536 taps are a good choice whether threading all the way through the workpiece, or blind holes which stop part way through.
