The E100 from Dormer is a tap for producing metric coarse threads by hand and is ideal for hand tapping tough materials including steels and other heat resistant materials. Manufactured from High Speed steel, the tools will give great results and have a longer tool life, whilst the bright finish ensures work piece material will not stick to the cutting edge of the tool, so giving you a cleaner, more accurate finish. The E100 taps are available in a very wide range of sizes from M1.6 to M52, either as a single tapered tap or as a set of three separate taps (serial taps) which you should use one after the other to create the same thread, with each tap creating a slightly more accurate thread with a slightly less tapered bottom to the hole. The E100 conforms to the German Institute for Standardization and the straight flute design makes these taps ideal for both through and blind holes.
