Olsen & Smith 340L Rattan Effect Garden Storage Box – Waterproof Deck Chest

• 340 LITRES ALONG A WALL – At 119cm long this outdoor storage box swallows four or five seat cushions, a parasol base, tools, and still sits flat against a fence, a wall or the back edge of a patio.
• SEATS TWO, RATED TO 150KG – The reinforced lid takes two adults, so this cushion box doubles as a patio bench — somewhere to sit with a drink while everything you own stays dry underneath it.
• WATERPROOF AND LOCKABLE – 100% recycled polypropylene, sealed by NatureGuard against rain, snow and strong sun, so cushions put away dry come out dry. A padlock is included for the moulded front hasp.
• RATTAN WEAVE, MOULDED THROUGH – The basket-weave texture is moulded into the panels rather than printed on, so it will not peel, fade patchy or need treating. A hose down is the whole job.
• ONE PERSON CAN MOVE IT – It weighs 8kg empty, so you can shift the deck box to sweep behind it or follow the sun, and the hinged lid stays attached rather than needing somewhere to go.

Garden storage usually asks you to choose between enough room and somewhere to put it. This takes 340 litres and lays it along a wall: 119cm long, 52cm deep, flat against a fence, a rendered wall or the back edge of a patio, where it reads as furniture rather than as a bin. Inside goes the stuff that otherwise lives in the house. Four or five seat cushions. A parasol base and a folded cover. Secateurs, a kneeler, a hose, a bag of feed. Pool, the football, the badminton set. Parcels, if you are out when the courier is not. The lid is reinforced and rated to 150kg, which is two adults sitting side by side. On a patio or decking that makes it a bench as well as a box — somewhere for guests to sit when the chairs have run out, with everything still dry underneath. It is hinged, so it swings back and stays attached; there is no loose lid to prop against a wall or lose down the garden in a gale. It is waterproof. NatureGuard by Olsen & Smith seals the panels against rain, snow and strong sun, so cushions that go away dry come out dry — which is the whole reason for owning one of these rather than a tarpaulin. A padlock comes in the box and fits the moulded hasp on the front, so the lid is secured from the day it is built rather than after a trip to the hardware shop. It is a deterrent for cushions, tools rather than high security, and it is enough to stop a lid lifting in the wind or small hands getting into the pool kit. The finish is a rattan basket weave, moulded through the polypropylene rather than printed on the surface. It will not peel, it will not fade in patches, and it never needs treating or oiling. Every panel is 100% recycled. At 8kg empty, one person can move it — to sweep behind it, to follow the sun round the garden, or to get at the drain when something goes wrong. In the box: the panels, the hinged lid, the fixings and the padlock.
