Unlike cork bark tubes, flats provide a broader and flatter natural surface. This makes them particularly useful where you want to add cork texture to the back or sides of a terrarium or vivarium without taking up as much internal space. Use them as natural backgrounds, vertical climbing surfaces, ledges, raised planting areas, moss displays or general hardscape features in terrariums, vivariums and bioactive enclosures. Choose your preferred approximate length from the available options. Width varies naturally between individual pieces and generally increases with length. As a guide: 20-40 cm pieces are at least approximately 8 cm wide 40-60 cm pieces are at least approximately 10 cm wide 60-80 cm pieces are at least approximately 12 cm wide Many pieces will be wider than these minimum measurements. Because this is a natural product, every piece is different. Shape, colour, texture, thickness, width, weight and exact dimensions will vary. Natural cracks, irregular edges, loose particles and variations in surface texture are normal features of cork bark and are not defects. Our Portuguese cork bark is heat-treated by the supplier to help eliminate pests before dispatch. Brush away any loose debris and rinse with clean water if required before use.
