Whitefly Spray Concentrate is designed for gardeners managing whitefly on greenhouse and garden plants. The concentrate contains oily soaps and is diluted with water before use. It works through direct contact with the insect, so thorough application is important. A 500ml concentrate bottle makes up to 5 litres of ready-to-use spray. To prepare 1 litre, mix 100ml of concentrate with 900ml of water and shake well before spraying. Glasshouse whitefly is commonly found on tomato and cucumber plants, although it can also affect other vegetables and ornamental plants during the growing season. Spray both the upper and lower leaf surfaces, paying particular attention to the underside of leaves where whitefly usually gathers. If whitefly is still present after treatment, repeat the application every seven days. This can be necessary where new insects emerge after the first spray. Missing the underside of the foliage will reduce contact with the insects. Do not spray very young plants. Avoid application during hot weather or in bright sunshine, as leaves are more likely to suffer scorch under these conditions.
