- HEAVY-LEAF VARIETY: Merlo Nero produces blistered, dark green, flavour-rich leaves that hold their texture well. Suitable for both salad use and cooking. Ideal for autumn and winter growing, making it a reliable choice for year-round kitchen gardens. Slow to bolt in cooler conditions.
- EASY TO GROW & HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE: Compact habit and fast regrowth allow for multiple harvests from the same plants. Suitable for raised beds, allotments, containers or patio planters.
- SOWING INSTRUCTIONS: Sow February to April or August to October, 1 cm deep directly outdoors. Germinates even in cooler temperatures (around +5°C). Keep soil moist and lightly shaded in hot periods.
- GROWING & HARVESTING: Thin or transplant to 10 cm spacing. Harvest April to June and October to December, picking young outer leaves to allow continuous regrowth. SEEDS: 1300 Approx.
