- HERBACEOUS PERENNIAL - Eryngium planum is herbaceous perennial, that has a robust growing habit. It produces eye-catching, steely-blue spiky flower heads in Summer to early Autumn, on tall stems grown above rounded, dark green foliage. Each flower head is made up of narrow, spiny bracts measuring 2.5cm in length.
- EASY TO GROW - This sea holly is easy to grow in well draining soil. It does best in full sunlight in a sheltered west or south facing area. Eryngium planum can grow to a height of 50 - 100 cm with a spread of 10 - 50 cm and is ideal for growing in coastal gardens, cottage style gardens and wildlife gardens. The stems can also be cut and used in flower arrangements.
- POLLINATOR FRIENDLY - Eryngium planum are loved by a variety of pollinating insects such as bees, butterflies and moths. This plant has received the RHS Plants for Pollinators seal of approval.
