Sony FE 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 GM OSS consists of 7 parts. The lens cover is design and produced in the strict accordance with the lens function, will not affect the normal operation of the lens. The focus ring, support ring can be rotated independently, the control panel area can be opened the window, the baffle can reverse installation. In order to reduce the number of parts and the number of gaps, the manual focus ring lens cover was widened. After testing, there is no change on focus ring rotation damping, and the hand feel is good. There are 3 custom buttons when widened the covers, but the cover of the custom button is thinner and can be easily manipulated across the canopy while retaining a good feel. The “100, 135, 200, 300, 400” value marks on the zoom ring will not be blocked by the lens cover. After install the lens cover on the bracket ring, it still can be rotated. There are gap on the split structure of lens cover, it can't be used in the rain. The water repellency of fabrics will decrease gradually with the increase of use time.
