SP201 Acrylic Polymer is a high-performance additive used to enhance the properties of plaster casts. This acrylic polymer enhances the surface hardness and provides resistance to chipping and cracking, prolonging the lifespan of the plaster casts. The product needs to be diluted, typically 1 part polymer to 4 parts water as a strengthener, and 1 part polymer to 5 parts water to give casts a water resistance. How much you require depends on use but as a rough guide a 250ml bottle would treat between 2kg of plaster. *Note when using the polymer less water is required as it lowers the surface tension enabling a denser cast. It is possible when striving for that perfect cast (such as when making chess pieces) to double or even treble the quantities used.
