- Characteristics: Fargesia plants are one of the best types of bamboo plant due to their multiple, short canes and delicate appearance. New shoots will take 3-5 years to reach full maturity. Develops masses of tiny, thin evergreen leaves that provide a stunning contrast to the bamboo stems.
- Plant Advice: Before planting, be sure to add some well-rooted manure or garden compost to allow the plant to have the best possible start in your garden. Water regularly and make sure that if planted in containers or borders, that the plants do not dry out - even during the Winter period - as their light foliage is prone to wind scorch. During Spring, remove any weak, damaged or dead cances as this will encourage fresh and healthy growth for the following season.
