A fantastic low maintenance shrub which provides colour throughout the year, Nandina ‘Obsessed’ (also known as Heavenly Bamboo) is bushy, compact and easy to grow. Enjoy it in borders or patio containers as it changes through the seasons every year, starting in spring when the young leaves emerge a fiery red before slowly maturing to green. In mid-summer you’ll be treated to a profusion of white flowers which appear in show panicles, which then turn into bright red berries in time for autumn, along with another colour show from the foliage which develops tints of orange, yellow and red. An excellent specimen which you can rely on to bring colour and structure to your garden or patio throughout the year. Grow Nandina in a moist, but well-drained soil in a sheltered position in full sun. Plants will tolerate a wide range of soils, from sand to chalk and clay. Heavenly Bamboo plants are low-maintenance and easy to grow, requiring very little pruning, simply tidy plants after flowering to remove and dead, damaged or unshapely growth.
