Pack of 10 25mm outer diameter x 16mm inner diameter x 5mm thick Coated with three layers of nickel, copper and nickel to reduce corrosion and provide a smooth finish These neodymium rings are identical in size and shape to our magnetised variety (F2516). They can be used with the 25mm x 5mm neodymium ring magnet to demonstrate how the intriguing 'eddy currents' produced by a magnet and copper pipe create a damping effect. A non-magnetic ring will slide down a length of copper pipe in an instant but the magnetised variation will descend slowly. A great way to bring magnets to life in the classroom.
