The mouthguard can be worn as is, without custom fitting. However, for a more custom fit, follow these steps. 2. Boil water and submerge the mouthguard in it, holding it by the strap, for approximately 30 seconds. Do not submerge the external lip protector. 3. Remove the mouthguard from the boiling water and wait about 5 seconds. Position the guard in your mouth, close your jaw, and bite down firmly for approximately 30 seconds. Be sure to bite evenly and not so hard that the breathing channels collapse. 4. Remove the mouthguard and place it under cold water. 5. Repeat the process if a good fit is not attained. Players with braces should not custom fit or bite down into the warm thermo rubber.
