The drawing illustrates the simple yet efficient principle of this brush: the bristles are embedded in a flat rubber surface with thicker bodies on the long sides. By squeezing these ends, the surface bulges outwards with the bristles. The resulting rubber cushion is inserted into the shaped brush body. When brushing, the bristles can now fan out, penetrate deeper into the hair and at the same time glide through more easily.
