The DelGuard utilizes an ingenious two-part system that makes it virtually impossible to break the lead. First, a spring in barrel of the pencil lets the lead slide back into the pencil instead of breaking if too much vertical pressure is applied. Second, another spring in the tip dynamically extends the lead guard to protect the lead when too much sideways pressure is applied. It may sound complicated, but it really works! By being able to use it without worrying about core breakage or core clogging, users can concentrate on writing with confidence at important scenes such as studying every day and testing.
