• BORDER AND POT USE: Plant in sunny, well-drained soil at the back of borders, or grow in a large deep container with reliable drainage.
• DETAILS: Supplied as a pair of size 18/20 bulbs, ready to plant on arrival. Plant in autumn in a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil, water in after planting, and allow foliage to fade naturally after flowering.
• ABOUT US: At YouGarden, we believe that gardening is for everyone. Based in rural Lincolnshire, we have our own 11-acre nursery, meaning that we are in close contact with our plants, so that we can guarantee our plants will thrive because we've nurtured them ourselves.

Fritillaria 'Rubra' brings royal stature to your spring planting, sending up robust stems clothed in glossy green leaves and crowned with orange-red bell-shaped flowers. This hardy bulbous perennial is also known as Crown Imperial, thanks to the tuft of leafy bracts that sits above each flower cluster and gives the plant its unmistakable regal outline. Reaching up to around 1.5m, it works beautifully at the back of sunny borders, where it rises above tulips, narcissi, muscari and early perennials. It can also grow in a large, deep container with good drainage, creating a bold focal point on patios or beside entrances. The blooms attract bees and the stems make striking cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Plant in autumn in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or a bright sheltered position. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground, and allow the foliage to fade naturally after flowering so the bulb can feed itself for future displays. Fully hardy and an RHS Award of Garden Merit holder too! Supplied as a pair of size 18/20 bulbs, ready to plant.
