Ironstone Basecoat Plaster Fibred Ironstone Basecoat Plaster is a factory blended mortar that takes all variables out of the equation, made using 100% pure Heidelberg Materials Socli high performance Natural Hydraulic Lime, well graded kiln dried sand and the option of alkaline resistant fibres. Ironstone Basecoat Plaster offers all the advantages of the Ironstone ready mixed range but with additional conservation-appropriate work aids to significantly improve the mortars physical and mechanical performance. Suitable for internal backgrounds. The addition of the fibres provides reinforcement and improved tensile strength of the scratch coat and assists to mitigate cracking, on high suction backgrounds. A 25kg bag yields approximately 15litres of render and covers 1.5m2 at 10mm. Do not use in temperatures below 5C or above 30C. Whilst curing protect from adverse environmental conditions including frost, rain, direct sunlight and drying winds. Surface Preparation: Remove dust, surface contaminants and loose or crumbly material. Ensure Masonry is not waterproofed or painted. Application: Mix with clean water approximately 4 to 4.5 litres of water to each 25 kg of Basecoat Render. Please read the datasheet for further advice on mixing, quenching and application. Do not add anything other than clean water. Further Coats: Ironstone Basecoat Plaster, Ironstone Finishing Plaster or Ironstone Superfine finishing plaster after 2 to 7 days, once the coat has stiffened / hardened, but is still "green".
