Product description
Achieve razor-sharp precision with our premium whetstone sharpening stone set. Featuring dual-sided stones (1000/4000 grit and 3000/8000 grit), this kit is perfect for sharpening kitchen knives, chisels, scissors, and razors. Designed with non-slip silicone bases, these stones stay securely in place, ensuring safety during use. Whether you're restoring a dull blade or polishing a fine edge, our dual-grit design delivers professional results every time. Perfect for chefs, DIY enthusiasts, and beginners alike, this durable water stone is a must-have for any sharpening task. TO USE: 1. Soak for around 10 minutes. Fit in silicone base on a firm steady surface. It's normal for a powdery slurry to appear. Don't wash this away as it's a honing/polishing compound. If it dries sprinkle on a bit more water 2. If the knife's blunt use the 400 and 1000 grit sides first to achieve a good edge. Hold at around a 20 degree angle or use the guide (hint, the back of the blade should come halfway up your thumb when it is resting on the stone). Move back and forth smoothly until you achieve the desired result on both sides – around 15 minutes 3. Use light pressure on the 3000 grit side to give your knife a good edge and keep polishing with the 8000 side until you achieve a superfine polished finish. Frequent use will maintain a razor sharp edge 4. Use the whole whetstone surface. Constant use of the same area will cause dips so turn the stone around frequently and go to the edges. If this happens you can use the flattening stone to make it flat again 5. After sharpening, rinse and leave until fully dry 6. Place in a safe, dry place, out of the reach of children. Avoid dropping DID YOU KNOW? Is it whet stone, whetstone, wetstone or wet stone? It's actually whetstone. The word "whet" means to sharpen. So you can have whetstones that use oil or water. But feel free to call it what you wish! Can it be used with oil? Yes most people use it with water which is of course, almost free, clean and environmentally friendly. However, you could use oil as the lubricant, though once oil is used you can't go back to water as the oil will not allow the water to sink in and do its job FLATTENING STONE Using a graphite pencil, make a criss cross pattern on the wet stone then rub with the flattening stone until the pencil marks disappear which means the surface will have been returned to flat Contents: 1 x sharpening stone 400/1000 grit, 1 x sharpening stone 3000/8000 grit 4 x silicone rubber bases

I wrote to Bigamart's customer support and they accompanied the process of reshipping the item until it finally arrived. I felt a genuine effort to solve the problem till it was finally solved.
The package was here in Australia from England in a few days — so quick! Something was missing and they refunded it straight away. Pretty happy with these guys.
