When's The Replay?: The Story of Sheffield Wednesday's 1896 FA Cup Triumph

On 18 April 1896 The Wednesday Football Club became the first side from Yorkshire to win the FA Cup. Fred Spiksley was the hero that day when he scored his sides two goals in a narrow 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Playing alongside Spiksley that day was a team of forgotten heroes who were part of laying the foundations of the professional game so that it grew into the one we recognise and love today. When’s The Replay? is collaboration between authors John Brodie, Jason Dickinson, Mark Metcalf and Clive Nicholson who have combined previously released material with over 80 images to share the story of these remarkable men and the journey they went on to create their mark in football history.
