All young people have strengths they just don’t always recognise them as such, especially if they are associated with very everyday activities such as cooking for family or playing their favourite sport. What’s your strength cards have been designed to help young people translate what they do into what they are good at. There are two sets of cards in each pack, one based around school subjects and the other is a mixture of activities and life experiences. Young people select the cards which apply to them and then turn the cards over to find a variety of skills and qualities. The mixture of words helps to prompt conversation and encourage self-refection. Being able to recognise their abilities and talk about their strengths will help young people to: - understand themselves better - embrace who they are - improve their confidence, self-esteem, and motivation - develop their career planning skills: - understanding which types of jobs they are well suited to - CV writing - applying for jobs, college, university and apprenticeships preparing for interviews - A glossary of all the words used on the cards can be downloaded from www.whatsyourstrength.co.uk.
