Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato Seeds - 10 Fresh Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato Seeds
About this item
- ๐ The Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato is a true heavyweight champion in the garden, known for its massive pink-red fruits, soft marbling, and unbeatable flavour. Despite the name, itโs not a watermelon โ but its large size and rosy blush certainly remind you of one!
- ๐ All our seeds are grown on our own farm in South Wales.
- ๐ LIGHT: Tomato seedlings thrive in abundant light. Providing 12-16 hours of bright, indirect sunlight daily is essential for their growth. If natural sunlight is insufficient, consider using fluorescent or LED grow lights. Maintain a distance of 2-4 inches between the light source and seedlings to prevent leggy growth. Adequate light promotes photosynthesis, allowing the seedlings to generate the energy necessary for robust development and healthy foliage.
- ๐ SOIL & NUTRIENTS: Choosing the right soil and nutrients is pivotal. Begin with a well-draining potting mix enriched with organic matter like compost. To provide essential nutrients, use a balanced fertilizer every two weeks after germination. Aim for a pH level of 6.0-6.8 to facilitate nutrient uptake. Regularly monitor for signs of nutrient deficiencies, such as yellowing leaves, and adjust your fertilizer regimen accordingly.
- ๐ WATER: Proper watering is crucial for tomato seedlings' success. Maintain consistent soil moisture by avoiding both overwatering and underwatering. Water at the base of the plants using a gentle spray to minimize the risk of fungal diseases. As the seedlings grow, adjust the amount of water to match their increasing size and needs. Maintaining appropriate moisture levels is essential for establishing strong root systems and promoting sturdy growth.
Product description
๐ The Watermelon Beefsteak Tomato is a true heavyweight champion in the garden, known for its massive pink-red fruits, soft marbling, and unbeatable flavour. Despite the name, itโs not a watermelon โ but its large size and rosy blush certainly remind you of one! This heirloom variety produces smooth, round to slightly ribbed fruits that often top 500g each. The flesh is meaty, juicy, and bursting with rich, old-fashioned tomato flavour, with just the right balance of sweetness and acidity. Ideal for slicing thick onto burgers, sandwiches, or serving with just a sprinkle of salt. Indeterminate and mid-to-late season, plants grow tall and need staking or cages to support the heavy yield. Fruits mature around 80โ90 days from transplant.
