Water Hyacinth Square Placemats Set of 4, 34 cm Flat Weave Handwoven Table Mats for Dining Table, Smooth Boho Woven Plate Mats, Heat Resistant Natural Placemats for Christmas, Beige

• SET OF 4, 34 x 34 CM, FLAT WEAVE — 4 matching square mats in our smoother, flatter weave. Each is 34 cm along every side, so a dinner plate sits well inside the edge.
• FLATTER THAN OUR CLASSIC WEAVE — the strands are laid closer and tighter, giving a smoother surface and a quieter pattern. Glasses and stemware sit steadier on it than on a chunky weave.
• HANDWOVEN WATER HYACINTH — woven by hand from natural water hyacinth stems, so every mat carries its own grain while keeping an even, flat finish across the set.
• TAKES A HOT DISH STRAIGHT OFF THE HOB — the dense natural weave sits between a hot plate or serving bowl and your table, so the wood underneath stays unmarked.
• WARM ENOUGH FOR CHRISTMAS, PLAIN ENOUGH FOR TUESDAY — the natural beige tone sits quietly under white china every day, then dresses up with greenery and candles for a Christmas or wedding table.

Every mat in this set is woven by hand from natural water hyacinth, the broad-leaved plant that grows across the waterways of southern Vietnam. The stems are harvested, sun-dried until they turn a warm honey-beige, then plaited over and under by weavers who have spent years at the work. Nothing is pressed out by machine, which is why no two mats carry exactly the same grain. The set contains 4 square mats in our flat weave, each 34 cm along every side. The strands are laid closer and tighter than in our classic weave, giving a smoother surface and a quieter pattern — glasses and stemware sit steadier on it, and a dinner plate sits well inside the edge. Looking after them takes seconds. Wipe with a damp cloth and leave them to dry flat, then stack them in a drawer or on a shelf. No washing machine, no ironing, no special storage. The natural beige tone is deliberately quiet. Under everyday white china it simply warms the table without competing with the food. Add eucalyptus, a runner and candles in December and the same mats carry a Christmas table; they work just as well for a wedding breakfast, a christening or an ordinary Sunday roast. Equeen Handicraft works directly with weaving households in Vietnam, and every piece leaves the workshop checked by hand.
