Product description
Since the early period, the guardian god of the necropolis, which was depicted in jackal shape or with human body and jackal head. He was considered a balming god, guardian of secrets and judge of the dead. Together with his mother, the cow goddess Hesat, and the bull god Mnevis, he formed a family of gods. In later texts, he was also considered the son of the god of the dead Osiris. His cult is occupied in numerous places in Egypt, its original home was probably in the 17th Gau Upper Egypt. Anubis is depicted in this figure with 2 crooked swords, the so-called Chepesch. The "Chepesch" was a royal insignum that symbolized the "beating of the enemy" in function as "Chepesh crooksword" or "victory weapon".
