However, there are circumstances where additional dietary Vitamin C may be beneficial — for example during periods of increased physical demand, stress, illness, or when access to fresh green forage is limited. The form of Vitamin C used is important. Progressive Earth Vitamin C is supplied as Vitamin C Monophosphate — a highly absorbable form, offering superior bioavailability compared to Ascorbic Acid, which is considered poorly absorbed by horses.
