Our fire hydrant standpipe is made from quality aluminium alloy and is a simple solution to bringing water above ground from a mains underground hydrant. Available in a double head to provide two standard UK 2.5" instantaneous outlets onto which you can securely connect multiple layflat fire hoses. The fire hydrant standpipe itself can connect to a 2.5" BSRT outlet on the hydrant using Urban Round Thread (URT) and is only suitable for use during a fire. Supplied with a blank plug and chain to protect outlets from dust and rubbish, the hydrant is manufactured for Vigil Products of aluminium with a working pressure of 25 bar and tested to 35 bar. Standing tall at 930mm, don’t forget you’ll need a fire hydrant key in order to switch the flow of water on or off. We also have fire hydrant standpipes available complete with check valves which are water company approved as they stop water running back through the standpipe once it has passed through.
