Video-2-Pi. USB composite video capture grabber for Raspberry Pi 4 and Pi 3. Comes with timelapse video building scripts. Watch CCTV camera on your Pi's desktop. OpenCV library compatible.
About this item
- A USB composite video grabber that's compatible with Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry. Pi 4 supports 25fps PAL 720 x 576 captures over the USB 3.0 ports. Pi 3 supports 12fps.
- Uses a standard UVC driver that doesn't require extra drivers and behaves a bit like a webcam. The USB port on a Raspberry Pi isn't true USB2, so it can't capture 25fps video (Pi 3 will do about 12fps at 720x576 or 30fps at 360x288 in LUVCVIEW), but it can capture 720x576 PAL or NTSC 720x480 full resolution images from anything with a composite output: bird box cameras, CCTV cameras, microscopes and telescopes, modded ZX81 or ZX Spectrum, etc, etc.
- This device doesn't work with the fswebcam software, and while Cheese will show a live image it won't capture a photo or video. However, it is fully tested with the timelapse scripts included in the PDF that comes with the package & you can use it to live monitor a video feed on your Pi's desktop using Luvcview.
- The provided timelapse script will capture up to 1 frame every second for as long as you like. Simple to change to one frame every minute, or hour, or whatever else you need. Will take up to 9999 photo stills and then make a time lapse movie from them automatically.
- Comes with Bash shell and Python example scripts. Also works fine with OpenCV computer vision library on Raspberry Pi
