Product Description ACE-High is a special vitamin supplement to which is formulated to provide high levels of those vitamins shown to be involved in aiding animals such as fish, birds or reptiles through periods of stress and disease. Primarily it is a mixture of the vitamins A,C & E along with smaller quantities of other vitamins and minerals including B1, B2, B6 & B12. Vitamins A and E are both involved in helping the body resist infection. Vitamin A is essential for healthy mucous membranes such as the mouth, gills and gut. Vitamin E has been shown to boost the immune mechanism in some species. Vitamin C is used up very quickly by the body when it is under stress and so must be replaced. Growing fish can become severely and permanently deformed due to vitamin deficiencies. Whatever attention is normally paid to diet and supplements, fish which are newly arrived in quarantine, travelling around shows, in breeding condition, or suffering from an illness will all require nutritional assistance to maintain their condition and fight disease. ACE-HIGH is used mixed into home-made ´Koi-cake´ or top dressed onto pellets using oil or gelatin at a rate of 1g (one third of a rounded teaspoon) per kg of food. The combination of vitamins in ACE-High has proved very useful in supplementing fish suffering from diseases or being stressed by transport (stress uses up vitamins A,C & E), or just at spawning time. It is worth noting that, BECAUSE vitamins are water soluble over 50% has been shown to leach out of SOME MANUFACTURERS pellets after 30 seconds in the water, hence the reason for adding extra, protected in oil or agar.
