Product Description Soft pond water with a GH value (= calcium and magnesium hardness, also called the total hardness and quantified in dH) lower than GH 5 °dH can easily acidify. Long-lasting rainfall reinforces this process. Especially in autumn and winter, fish dying can be the result. The growth and development of oxygen plants (such as water plague, horn leaf and spawning herb) are also inhibited if the GH value is too low. A healthy and stable pond environment has a total hardness of GH 8 to 12 °DH. Regular control (4 to 5 times a year) of the GH value is therefore also necessary. If the value drops below GH 7°DH, measures must be taken. With GH Plus, the total hardness can be easily increased. Instructions for use: accurately calculate the water content of your pond. For increasing 250 litres of pond water by approx. 3 °DH you need 25 ml (= contents of 1 cap) GH Plus. Now calculate the amount of GH Plus required for your pond. Mix this amount of GH Plus with 10 litres of water and pour this with a watering can over the water surface. A high pH value can have a disturbing effect on the dissolving capacity of GH Plus. The result is then often only measurable after a few weeks. If the KH value (acid-binding capacity) of the pond water is too low, this can be increased with velda KH Plus. GH Plus and KH Plus must never be added at the same time. A break of 7 days should be considered.
