Professional artist colors of high viscosity, made with permanent pigments for fine art and a 100% acrylic resin. Vallejo was one of the first manufacturers of artist acrylic colors in Europe. In the 1970s, the company launched its Acrylic Artist Color range, packaged in 58 ml./1.96 fl.oz. aluminum tubes. The art world was dynamic and enterprising at the time. Large formats, murals and happenings were the fashion. The result was Acrylic Studio: 12 colors in 200 ml./6.76 fl.oz. plastic bottles, a groundbreaking product at the time. When developing the colours for this range, Vallejo took environmental protection requirements into account, no pigments containing heavy metals were used, nor any products that could pose toxic risks during handling or disposal. Acrylic Studio is extremely stable and lightfast, contains no fillers or extenders and dries to a satin sheen. The use of the purest resins and pigments ensures optimum colour strength and colour quality. The label indicates the lightfastness and opacity of each colour, as well as the international colour index number of each pigment. All colours meet the requirements of the American standard ASTM D-4236. Over the years, the Acrylic Studio colour chart has grown to 60 colours, all made with high-quality raw materials.
