This product is aimed at the refurbishment of all manual radiator valve caps, 15mm or 1/2" Valves, that are found in the home and other premises. NB! not suitable for micro-bore systems. Depending on the age of your heating system it will have radiators fitted with 2 manual valves (one with a Wheelhead and one with a Lockshield cap) or 1 thermostatic valve and 1 manual valve (with a Lockshield cap). Wheelhead caps are designed to operate the valve whereas the Lockshield caps are deliberately designed NOT to allow the valve to be adjusted, turned on or off. This is generally a problem if you want to remove the radiator to decorate. An exposed valve spindle (a valve without a cap on it), is a recognised HSE Hazard. Radiators in Schools and public buildings are a particular issue. Reasons to buy our universal fitting caps. Our caps can replace your existing Lockshield caps and give you control of the valve(s). Your existing caps have "gone missing", become damaged or discoloured over time and you want to lift the look of your radiators without the expense of replacing the valves. Our caps are designed to be difficult to remove, this is help prevent the HSE Hazard and stop small children either choking on them or pinching them. Our caps are Universal fitting, they come with 4 different drive disks to suit all known radiator valve stems. Our caps come with 3-way removable collar that allows for a really snug fit to any valve body. Made in England by us. This product consists of 2 caps, 2 3-way collars and 2 sets of drive disks to enable any combination of Lockshield or Wheelhead caps to be fitted. It is also worth noting that these caps are not designed to be used to free off a seized valve. BEFORE fitting these caps the valves stems must rotate freely. This can be achieved by the use of a spanner.
