This joyful triumph tulip makes the great springtime display. Tulip 'Yellow Flight' produces cup-shaped, bright yellow blooms, standing tall on long, upright, sturdy stems. They make an impressive impact when planted in beds and borders, standing out when planted among other brightly coloured flowers. They can also be planted in containers, making a stunning patio display, and are brilliant for cutting so their beauty can be brought indoors. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart. After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer.
