Following the 1993 review MC became avaliable to all ranks of all services - RN, RM, Army and RAF. There were approx 37 000 medals awarded during WW1. Medal has ornamental cross in silver, with straight arms terminating in broad finals ornamented with Imperial Crowns. Royal Cypher is at the centre of the cross. The reverse of the cross is plain design
