Its main attraction is its elongated, light green leaves which has a fishbone-like vein structure, similar to the Hornbeam. This tree sheds its leaves for the winter only in February, the brown foliage stays on the plant, quite pretty with ice crystals on the edges on a frosty morning. Before that, she celebrates Autumn with a stunning yellow coloration. It also features nice, grey-brown bark. Easy to grow and excellent for bonsai, to keep it on the patio and can be a topiary plant as well. Originates from Japan. Fully hardy.
