The sand may have a light shade of grey colour but it will look different and much more attractive when illuminated in the aquarium. Our Silica Sand is not artificially coloured, therefore it looks very natural. Our observations show that every substrate in the aquarium is lighter. This depends mainly on the tank lighting.
• Due to the water and heat treatment at high temperatures the substrate is clean, dry and ready to use. Will not require rinsing before use. After pouring out the substrate into the aquarium and covering it with water, a natural cloudiness may occur, which will disappear very quickly after starting the filtration. You can rely on our experience. Buy sand from companies that specilise in aquarium substrates.

In order to create a 4-5 cm thick layer of substrate in an aquarium of a given bottom length the following is needed: 30cm / 1ft = 5-7 kg 60cm / 2ft = 10-15 kg 80cm / 2.6ft = 15-20 kg 100cm / 3.3ft = 25 kg 120cm / 4ft = 30-35 kg 150cm / 5ft = 50-60 kg 200cm / 7ft = 80-90 kg
