Tikkurila products are canned in Finland and at the point of filling the volume in the can is 10% less than the unit of measure to allow for tinting of the product. In order to manufacture the required colour, we need the spare volume for the colourant addition.

Our first interior emulsion to be released with a partly bio-based binder. 30% of the raw materials that are typically fossil-based have been partly replaced with plant-based ingredients. Low-emission and fast-drying, this water-based paint is classed as zero VOC and has been credited multiple eco-labels. It’s scrub-resistant, washable, and available in thousands of colours. Leaves a beautiful matt finish (5% sheen) that is durable and long-lasting. With a Class 1 scrub rating, this product with withstand frequent cleaning and is perfect for use in high traffic areas of the home (such as living rooms, hallways and bedrooms). Optiva Nature has been rigorously tested and meticulously modified over time to ensure that the quality and technical performance of the paint meet Tikkurila's high standards. Providing our customers with the same Optiva they know and love, but with less fossil content.
