Monitor and eliminate thrips from fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The problem: Thrips attack a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and ornamental flowers. They mostly feed on plants, particularly flowers, resulting in distorted growth and poor output. Their feeding also leaves visible imprints on flower petals and foliage, making them appear discoloured. Thrips can be a nuisance all year under greenhouse conditions, but they are most prevalent during the warmer months when they can multiply more quickly. Trapping and monitoring adult thrips allows the user to determine the magnitude of the pest population and, if required, take action before they cause significant plant damage. The product: This pack includes everything you need to monitor both men and females of a wide range of thrips species for 8 weeks. The pack includes a lure intended to attract a wide range of thrips species that can harm plants, including Western Flower Thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis). Aside from the visual appeal of the blue sticky traps, the lure increases the quantity of thrips captured. One lure will cover the area of a large greenhouse. How To Use: The thrips trap can be used all year round. When thrips are active, which is usually from April to September, insert one sticky trap with the lure amid the growing plants. - Take one blue sticky trap from the bag. - Use one contained wire to suspend the trap 30 cm above. - Hang the trap 30 cm above the plants with one contained wire, or within the canopy for larger plants. - Remove the white protective coverings, revealing the adhesive on both sides of the blue sticky trap. - Gently pull up the lure's lid to open it, then flip it clockwise to keep it from closing accidently while in use. Hang the bait from the wire that holds the blue trap. - Once opened, the lure will gradually emit thrips attractant over the course of 8 weeks. Blue sticky traps should be replaced weekly, or more frequently if they become dirty or infested.
