Product description

The Late Lounge presents Boudoir Beats Bedroom cool from jazz fm’s Late Lounge The Late Lounge re-opens its doors in 2003 with the cool, sensuous sound of Boudoir Beats. As with all Late Lounge albums, Boudoir Beats features the type of stylish music heard on the critically acclaimed Late Lounge radio show (Monday to Fridays, 10pm-1am, jazz fm). With the right mix of contemporary grooves and classic downtempo, this is the finest selection of slowdown listening. True chill-out classics, acoustic and electronic masterpieces, jazz, bossa flavours and beautiful soul tracks make excellent bedfellows. Boudoir Beats’ CD1 highlights include the seminal 70s jazz-funk of Rotary Connection’s original "I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun", the incredible vocals of Petra Jean Phillipson on David Holmes’ Free Association psychedlic breakbeat funk cut, "(I Wish I Had A) Wooden Heart" (alas no longer to scheduled to be a single release) and the Groove Armada / Richie Havens collaboration, "Little By Little". Two artistes whose work deserves supreme recognition are Shaun Escoffery and Lewis Taylor. Their tracks on BB truly reflect the depth and variety of talent of soulful British music. The first CD also features two exclusives. The first is from Brooklyn’s finest nu-soul vocalist, Alison Crockett (aka Diva Blue) with "Like Rain" from an as yet unreleased album project. Those good people at Grand Central Records provide the second: a track by Kate Rogers and Tony D entitled "The Rhyme". CD2 begins with an Ibiza classic - William Orbit / Strange Cargo’s "The Story Of Light" - followed by Paul Hardcastle’s "Celestial Rhythm", which proves Paul’s pedigree as chill-out producer extraordinaire. We have some fun with a hip-hop beats infused workout of Sergio Mendes’ "For What It’s Worth". Natureboy’s "Lessons In Love" is perfect acoustic chill as is "So Low" by the underated and underexposed Custom Blue. A hard-to-find acoustic version of Tom & Joyce’s "Vai Minha Tristeza" and BahSamba’s, "Tired Little One" finish the album in a Latin/ bossa style. With the sexy new digipak-style packaging and the ever-evolving, effortlessly cool sounds of the Late Lounge, Boudoir Beats is once more the perfect soundtrack to a late night… in.

The package was here in Australia from England in a few days — so quick! Something was missing and they refunded it straight away. Pretty happy with these guys.
