The Art of Cultivating Spiritual Imagination: Turning to Earth Presence (School of Spiritual Psychology Archive Books.)

The art of spiritual imagination does not take us into the spiritual world, but brings awareness to the fact that Earth belongs to the spiritual world. Not Earth as we usually experience Earth, but the Spiritual-Earth. By ‘Spiritual Earth’, I mean archetypal Earth. I am utilizing the word ‘archetype’ in the sense employed by the philosopher of esoteric Sufism, Henry Corbin. By ‘archetype’ he means the being or beings who orient imagination toward its origins in the spiritual world. Corbin speaks of the ‘Angel Earth’, that is, the spiritual archetype of Earth as an angel. I follow that understanding here, with a series of contemplations that open Spiritual Earth presence.
