To compensate for the damage caused by the drastically increased destroyers during the Pacific War, the Japanese Navy planned to build a Ding-class destroyer with a simplified structure. This is a pine plastic model kit completed in April by Showa 1 as the first ship. To shorten the process and save material, the properties of the Matsu destroyer Matsu of the thing class are modelled without reason, such as a simple hull of straight lines and levels, a bridge and a second chimney offset to starboard.
