Product Description The USS Enterprise CV-6 was the second Yorktown-class ship and entered service in 1938 as the sixth aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy. In the Pacific War, she was involved in 18 of 22 major naval operations. It was severely damaged 15 times, but returned to the deployment again and again, becoming a symbol of the Navy's determination to win victory in the Pacific. In 1947, the USS Enterprise, affectionately called "Big E", was decommissioned and eventually scrapped from 1958 to 1960. To this day, she is the most decorated ship in the history of the US Navy. The TAMIYA model kit features the famous aircraft carrier as it entered service towards the end of World War II, including upgraded Air Defense (AA) armament and Hellcat, Corsair, Avengers and Helldiver aircraft.
