Product Description The German swimming car type 166 (reference 35224, scale 1:35, with narrow tires) has been a bestseller since 1998. TAMIYA now presents a swimming car kit with wide tires, additional equipment such as the MG34 machine gun and two new figures. European geography crossed by rivers and marked by wetlands posed the Wehrmacht to great military challenges and led it to develop the car, an amphibious vehicle based on the bucket truck designed by Ferdinand Porsche. With a 25 HP 4-cylinder gasoline engine, the on-land swimming car reached a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The three-blade rear propeller has been manually lowered via a bar and allows speeds of up to 10 km/h in the water. Due to the scarcity of materials, many swimming cars were equipped with 133mm tires, while the wider 200mm tires provided better off-road driving ability.
