The USS Bogue was the type ship of the eponymous class of escort aircraft carriers, manufactured from 1942 to 1943 and served mainly as convoy escort ships in the Atlantic. But they were also responsible for the demise of many German submarines as well as the Japanese submarine I-52, which was on the way to Germany. The unique construction of the Bogue class - a flight deck mounted on a merchant ship - is reproduced and reproduced in detail in this model.
